Having returned to Amsterdam two years ago, Romy is currently immersed in the creation of a new EP/album that forms part of a trilogy highlighting her experiences in both New York City and Amsterdam. From a young age, music has been an integral part of my life. I have always felt an intense connection to music. Songwriting and piano playing came naturally to me. As I grew older, my singing voice became a part of it too.
My inspiration comes from my own life experiences and those of the people closest to me. Nothing moves me more than music in general, and piano music in particular. It’s a lifelong passion and commitment that comes from deep inside. My songs are the result of an emotional connection with the subject matter. I’ve lived through them.
My ultimate goal is to capture the hearts of the audience and leave them feeling emotionally fulfilled. I want people to know that they’re not alone and that their life challenges are understood, and often universal.
